Office Maintenance and
automation (OMA) a highly sophisticated program that helps employers to control
performance of their employees has been introduced in Rwanda.
The program that uses the cloud computing
system (the practice
of using a network of remote servers hosted on the Internet to store, manage,
and process data, rather than a local server or a personal computer) has been
introduced for its very first time in Rwanda through the Worldwide E-learning
campus in Bugesera where about 50 students are pursuing an advanced diploma in
the program.
Speaking at launch of the program on Saturday, Livingstone
Byandaga, the mager of the skills development project under the Workforce
Development Authority (WDA) said the program would have a good impact on
employee performance
He said “it is the first time for our country to have this
computer program. It will help employee managers to control performances of
their employees wherever they are as it uses cloud computing system. With the
program, a manager is able to control all his employees as he is automatically
informed in case a task is started or is finished, which helps to automatically
appraise the performance of his employees”.
Students who are doing their advanced diploma in OMA are trained
using a blended learning approach consisting of both online learning
resources and Instructor-led face-to-face learning sessions with International
expert tutors. They will also do exam from ERICSSON Academy owned by
ERICSSON Company,
a world leader in the rapidly changing environment of communications
technology.
Dr Innocent Rusagara, principal of Worldwide E-learning
campus , an international polytechnic institute, said people should learn the
program to link their skills, office work and technology He said “as more organizations all over
the world use digital office technologies and frameworks to get office work
done, the demand for skilled and certified Office Automation personnel is
increasing.
No
matter what industry you’re in, it’s always important to push yourself to learn
new skills that will help you grow professionally. Given the incredible
increase in technology-based business operations over the last years For
successful business professionals this often means becoming more updated with
new business technologies”.
